Since stepping into his role at Squalicum High School, Justin Sanchez has made a quiet but powerful impact. With a calm kindness that instantly makes students and staff feel welcome, Justin has quickly become an important part of the Squalicum community.

Justin’s approach is thoughtful and steady. He’s built trust by being present—offering a safe, supportive space where students can be themselves, whether they’re stopping by for Chill Lunch Group, getting help with classwork, or just needing a break during a busy day. His office often buzzes with quiet conversations, laughter over card games, and small, meaningful moments that help students feel like they belong.

In just a short time, Justin has launched supports that are truly student-centered. He’s helped students set academic and personal goals, created drop-in opportunities for students needing extra support, and quietly celebrated their wins—like a student realizing they had improved their GPA, or another gaining the confidence to ask for help in class for the first time. Even a simple round of Silent Uno during Chill Lunch can turn into an opportunity for connection and encouragement.

It’s not just students who notice. Staff members have shared how much they appreciate Justin’s presence, one even calling him “the counseling team’s hero.” His work with families has also been intentional and heart-driven—whether it’s coordinating resources, celebrating milestones, or simply offering a steady line of support when it’s needed most.

Justin’s ability to blend into the rhythm of Squalicum while lifting up the students around him is what makes his impact so special. His work reminds us that sometimes it’s the quiet, consistent presence that leaves the biggest mark.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Justin Sanchez as this month’s Site Coordinator Spotlight. Thank you, Justin, for the heart, care, and dedication you bring to Squalicum High School!
