Michal grew up in Whatcom County. After graduating from high school, she moved to Vancouver, Washington where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from WSU and her Master of Education, w/ an emphasis in School Counseling from City University. She worked as a high school counselor in Southwest Washington for six years. In between all that, she married her partner, Nick, and they have two children.
In the Summer of 2022, the opportunity to move back to Whatcom County became a reality for Michal and her family. Michal transitioned from High School Counselor to Project Support Coordinator for Space Advocate. Her passion is supporting students in the education environment, she recognizes the importance of programs like Communities in Schools and is excited to serve on the board.
When she’s not advocating for students, you can find Michal exploring new parks with her kids or digging around the garden.
