Tavia has been a Washington state resident since 1998. At just 10 years old, she moved here with her family from Alaska. She attended elementary, middle and high school in Lake Stevens, WA, where some of her family still resides.
With a wide range of professional experience, she brings a lot of diverse skills to the CIS Whatcom-Skagit team. At the heart of every experience, she has excelled at customer service, finance, and administrative support. With a deep desire to learn, she is open minded and enjoys deep conversations where thoughts and opinions are challenged for the better.
Tavia is new to the nonprofit world. She brings with her a positive, excited, and passionate mindset to help the organization reach and exceed their goals in helping the students, schools and the communities we serve, as a whole.
In her personal life, Tavia loves to spend time with her family, friends, husband, two dogs, Sage and Yoda, and their cat, Sprinkles. She also has many hobbies and interests which include flower farming, gardening, riding dirt bikes, hiking, camping, and anything outdoors, reading wonderful books, playing RPG video games, working on her stage fright to sing in front of people, and she loves to dance like nobody’s watching.
