Heidi Knickerbocker is the Site Coordinator at Kendall Elementary School in the Mount Baker School District.

Heidi brings over a decade of experience working with children, families, and communities in Whatcom County. With a Master’s in Education, a Bachelor’s in Human Services, and a K-8 teaching certificate, she has built her career around providing compassionate, equitable support to children and families navigating complex systems and barriers.

Before joining Communities In Schools of Whatcom-Skagit, Heidi spent seven years in the human services field in Whatcom County, providing direct support and resource navigation to individuals and families experiencing housing instability, food insecurity, and other urgent needs. She also led community outreach initiatives and helped develop a publicly accessible resource database designed to improve access to local services. In addition, she brings years of experience working in school settings, including as a preschool teacher, and K–5 substitute teacher in local schools.

Heidi is passionate about fostering student belonging and resilience, and is excited to bring her skills and experience to the Kendall Elementary community.

Outside of work, Heidi enjoys baking, reading, arts and crafts, making music, playing video games, and spending time with her partner and their three cats.
